Once Upon a Time...
...There was a building and in this building was a guy named Elvis who wore retro clothes and sang old songs. Then he left the building and they tore it down and Elvis Impersonators sprang up.

Thank you very much.

Monkey had never seen an Elvis Impersonator.

He's seen many contradictory things. He's seen UFOs and VWs, park rangers and Whovians, redwood trees and petrified wood,... He's even seen a sipapu (or 2). Opice has an imagination that can hold many impossible things in his head all at once without bursting.

"And I can chew gum at the same time," he boasts after swollowing it so he can talk. "But I never saw an Elvis."

Fortunately, Eskaton was having a free Elvis show for Valentine's Day. Being ever helpful, Opice volunteered to guard the food from the residents.

Monkey protects his snacks.

"In exchange for keeping the guests away from the snacks, Michael and I will get to see the free show for free.

"We were told there would be cupcakes. That's why we came early, to help eat cupcakes. I think Elvis isn't the only thing being impersonated here.

"Danijela baited me with cupcakes and then she switch them with cookies."

Monkey expressed his disappoint in the lack of cupcakes by abandoning his post at the snack table.

A feeding frenzie ensued. Which is to say gridlock occured as all the wheelchair users tried getting to the table at the same time.

One of the residents left his walker unattended and Opice pushed it over to where Michael sat waiting.

"We've got the best seats in the house and mine doubles as a high chair."

Monkey is virtically challenged and always asks for a booster chair in restaurants.

"It's only so people can see me better," he corrects.

Finally the show begins.

Elvis introduces himself as "Bob." He has a good voice, but bad batteries. His mic dies within 30 seconds and the show stops for lack of energy..

The show rebegins and Bob Elvis gets people to sing with him. Some people dance with him. One person in the audience even slept thru him.

Hello Mary Lou is Monkey's favorite Elvis song sung. "And Elvis Humperdinck was good, too."

Bob Elvis asked Opice to do a duet. This was a bad, horrible mistake because then Opice insisted on joining him at the piano for a round.

Opice introduces the piece, "It's Chinese New Year of the Double-Golden Pig. But in honor of my Year of the Monkey, we're going to sing Chinese Chopstix.

"One! Two! One, two, three, quatro!"

A good time was had by all, except those looking Too Much for cupcakes--Trouble!

Opice pouts, "I Feel So Bad that I'm All Shook Up, Danijela. It Hurts Me and I Gotta Know. Tell Me Why no cupcakes? You promised Michael, cupcakes but my Poor Boy didn't get any. And he really wanted me to get some, too. Well, It's Now Or Never, because the party's ending.

"My Wish Came True to meet an Elvis Impersonator; but Don't Be Cruel with the snacks. I think some Hound Dog or a Devil In Disguise got to the cupcakes early cuz there weren't any here after Bob Elvis showed up."

Michael asked Monkey, "Doncha Think It's Time you introduce your friend, Danijela, to the impersonator?"

"Yes, Treat Me Nice," Danijela agrees. "I Got Stung, too. Don't Ask Me Why there's no cupcakes. Maybe Fools Rush In and grab them all? Oh well, in Croatia we say Easy Come Easy Go. I'm not a Hard Headed Woman, Opice. Love Me Tender."

Monkey Surrendered and introduced the Big Hunk O' Love of a Teddy Bear Elvis to his friend. "Bob, Danijela is Eskaton's social coordinator and events planner. Any Day Now she's going to schedule a Puppet On A String act. Last Halloween she performed Witchcraft and turned this Heartbreak Hotel into a magic pumpkin patch.

Bob Elvis looked impressed, "How Great Thou Art. I Can't Help Falling In Love with this gal. I Want You I Need You I Love You and your cupcakes. MMMmmm!"

Michael's and Opice's , Suspicious Minds heard that and Monkey knew what it meant. "If I let Elvis Presley get to the snack table before me, There Goes My Everything. But eventually there'll be a Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin' On for old Elvis!"
